Angelica Pierson is a Social Entrepreneur with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. During undergrad she studied the behind the scenes workings of society, and became inspired to be the change that she wanted to see in the world. Since then she has shared her story of personal development to inspire others to pursue their dreams. She believes that we live in one big social construct, so as a form of resistance, she believes in building a construct of her own. A construct of empowerment, by influencing others to follow their dreams rather than the status quo. 

This journey has led to the creation of the Arts & Cultural Organization ‘Visionary Sanctum.’ Visionary Sanctum is a sacred home for a visionary. Angelica recognized early on that she was not only a dreamer, but a visionary. One who brings those dreams to life in collaboration with the community around them. Hegemony pushes against visionaries in order to create a passive society. Visionary Sanctum in resistance was created as a safe place for visionaries to thrive, be in community, and encourage collaboration. 

Through Visionary Sanctum she curates intimate community events that create expansive vulnerable conversation that allows people to deepen their connection with their fellow visionary. She also created a media arm within the organization, Visionary Sanctum the podcast. A platform to amplify the voices of BIPOC visionaries. A space for them to share their stories of their personal journeys that inform their work. 

As Visionary Sanctum continues to grow, Angelica’s main focus is moving the culture forward. The question is, how can we shape the culture of today, to shape a better future? How can we uplift the people through culture during a time of great socioeconomic pressure?
